Onon is owned by Kinaroad, the biggest EPS Epoxy surfboard manufacturer in Australia. Our company has a diverse range of surfing abilities amongst our employees and the means to make boards for ourselves. Some of us were frustrated with average surfs while trying to ride boards that were possibly too small or high-performance-oriented in crowded point breaks. So we decided to create an intermediate-level product to help surfers progress. 

Our goal is to surf better, which means catching more waves and improving our skills with each session. The initial board was designed to be fast paddling, easy to catch waves, and overcome the sweep of local points. We aimed to keep it simple, creating an easy-to-surf mid-length product that offered the opportunity to catch more waves and surf better.

The original 7'0" model was so successful that we developed smaller versions of it. It became popular within the company, and eventually, an employee's friend tried one and wanted to buy one, giving birth to the brand. We named the first model the Performance Mid because it was mid-length and performed well, more like a short board.

Onon's mission is to produce uncomplicated and affordable surfboards that are easy, smooth, and predictable. They are made in our factory in Australia and sold at factory-direct prices exclusively through kinasurf.com in a variety of constructions.
